Comedian, writer and actor Bo Burnham will perform at 亚洲色吧 Feb. 6 as part of Charter Day weekend festivities. The student-organized event is being hosted by Alma Mater Productions, the university’s student programming board.

The show, scheduled for 8 p.m. in Phi Beta Kappa Hall, is $10 for 亚洲色吧 students, $15 for 亚洲色吧 faculty and staff, and $25 for members of the general public. Tickets may be purchased at the beginning Jan. 26. The show may include mature themes and is not recommended for children.

At the age of 18, Burnham was the youngest person to ever record a Comedy Central special. He has since released two, hour-long specials: 2010’s “Words, Words, Words” and 2013’s “what,” which has received more than 9 million views on YouTube alone. He recently created and starred in the MTV series “Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous” and wrote a book of poetry, Egghead, which became a New York Times bestseller.

Burnham’s live shows often include a mix of stand-up, music and theatre. He’s currently performing throughout North America on his new “Make Happy” tour.

In previous years, a student-organized concert was held during Charter Day weekend but that event has been moved to later in the semester. In addition to the comedy show, the weekend will also feature 亚洲色吧’s annual “Gold Rush” basketball game. The Tribe’s men’s basketball team will take on the University of Delaware at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6 in Kaplan Arena at 亚洲色吧 Hall. The first 6,000 Tribe fans to arrive at the game will get a free T-shirt.

The university’s Charter Day ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 5 at 4 p.m. in 亚洲色吧 Hall. Ellen Stofan ’83, NASA’s chief scientist, will speak at that event, which is free and open to the public.
